  • I have been to this location twice and everytime I come, I always leave unhappy. The place is so small and the tables are so close together, you have no privacy. Also, it is very loud and you can't even hear the person sitting next to you. There is not one consistent server, there are tons of people that come up to you, it's confusing. The meat is very thinly sliced and burns easily on the grill. The grill flames up often which makes it next to impossible to fry meat without feeling like you're getting burned. I have to admit, the price for the items is pretty good, but the experience is not worth it.

  • I have been coming to this location since 2006

Myself and my Girlfriend love the place. We fill our stomachs and my wallet stays full.

For a Night Owl Special you pay 8.99$ a person, which comes out to 20.30 after taxes and I usually give them a 10$ tip

I have made "friends" with one of the waiters there so service for us is always spectacular when he is working.

I guess what I can suggest is to frequent the place often, ( once a week ) and befriend the happy korean dude ( not the short one with the glasses or the fat one who cleans the grills- they both look depressed.

Also order 3 rices each off the bat and how many trays of meat so they don't have to care to your needs as much. You can aim to hit the lotto by asking for your own pitcher of water.

These people are honest people, and for the work they do everyone should tip them generously. ( amount of meat, expensive downtown location, 2:30AM closing time on weekends)

Highly recommended, this is easily my favourite restaurant in the whole city

Also make sure you adjust the fire so it is just below the grill, that way it stays cleaner or longer and you won't have burnt meat ;)

  • Everyone in our party thought the food was OK (hit or miss), but the service I give two stars. We had eaten there several times and I'm disappointed to say the below average service was the only thing that stayed consistent. I observed whenever a big party gets seated, many waiters flocked towards them almost leaving many of the small party customers.

Service was bad. Waiters had to be asked two to three times before somebody finally refills our drinks. Orders come in slow.

Also, they asked us for tips! We said we're not giving tips because of slow service. We had to talk to the manager but she didn't do anything, just reiterated what the waitress said. They really wanted their tips so bad, they kept us in for another 10mins. They won, obviously.

Apparently, if you have five or more people eating, it's mandatory you tip them (plus GST and PST) despite of bad service.

  • I visit Korean Grill House quite often as the food is tasty and a great value for the price.

Service can be tough during busy times, often takes a while to get refills on food and drinks, but when not busy the service is quite fast.

Grilling your own food is fun and the marinades are very good. After reading through the reviews here I see a lot of complaints about the fish falling apart and getting stuck to the grill. The secret is to slow-cook the fish on the edge of the grill instead of putting it directly on the flame. Give it a couple minutes longer than you give the meats you put directly over the flame and I guarantee it will be cooked perfectly and will not fall apart or stick to the grill.

  • Great restaurant, however there were several meats my father and I did not enjoy.
The pork and the beef were sliced very thinly to the point that it was coming apart. When you bbq that, all of the moisture is lost and it has very little flavour left. The fish fillet was terrible. It came apart as we were grilling it and we needed to use a spoon to scoop it out.
The other meats were pretty satisfying though, i reccomend the salmon and lamb =).
The service was way below average as it was not personal and it was VERY slow. When I finished my rice, the waiter took it and never came back for my refill, I had to ask twice for a refill of kimchi and water. The side dishes were medicore but I did like the variety.
Overall, I think I would visit this place again with a party or something along those lines. Other than that, I don't think it's worth the money for a casual dinner.

  • When you go after 9 pm there is a night owl special. 8.99 for all you can eat! Although we didn't really eat the squid the beef and chicken were seasoned nicely. We get to grill our own food so it was fun. They were very quick with the water or rice whenever we asked for it. All I ate was the rice and meat, but it still was worth it.

  • Of the 4 diners, 2 of us had food poisoning after. Seeing as one of us had the lunch special and the other had bento, we suspect the side dishes are the culprit, seeing as they are raw and may have become cross contaminated with the raw meat in the kitchen. We also made sure the meat were cooked really well before eating.

This could happen at any restaurant though. Just be careful.

  • The price was 12.99 before taxes and tips the Coke was 1.75 with unlimited refills. This is a great price! For dinner I always have to wait outside, since it is so packed. I love the ribs but sometimes there were quite a few that were just fat! All AYCE comes with these mini dishes of bean sprouts, kimchi and radishes. Service is great!

This is not a Korean barbecue restaurant. Avoid at all costs. Ask your Korean friends where they would go instead.
