  • Review: Wow! I am shocked there aren't more reviews of Edward Levesque's Kitchen. Anyone who has been there has a fierce opinion of the place.

First, I must qualify the fact I was there a year ago with three other people. From what other site have said, the place hasn't changed much in that time, so here is my experience.

We were met by an obnoxious waitress who said to us, "Make sure you say something nice when you come in! We're being reviewed tonight!" Umm, yeah. We sat down at one of their terrible, cramped little tables that are so close together, you'r epractically sitting in the lap of the person at the table snext to you. My wife immediately looked at the floor, and almost gagger: it was the same cracked, crappy linoleum floor that was there when the place was a greasy spoon. Faux, I wondered, or Faux Dive?

The food was, in a word, unremarkable. Seriously. Two of us had steak, the other lamb, and that's about it. Bland, unseasoned, and uninspired. I chewed my mean mourfully, all the while wondering what the fuss was about that I'd heard from others, including our neighbours. It seems breakfast at EL's is one thing, and dinner another matter entirely.

The waiter was one of the few people I've felt like smacking in the face in years! Rude, uninterested, and slow as molasses. And the price was outrageous! Dinner, dessert for one, two mixed drinks, and a bottle of wine: $350. My wife insisted we tip (something I'll never go along with again). The only reason we went there is because Gio Rana's was busy. Never again will I go back. As we left, the same stupid waitress said, "Say something nice on the way out!"

How about kiss my you-know-what, I thought.

Awful place, lousy service, and worst of all, boring food. I should've suggested we go to The Duke across the street.

  • Review: The worst service. Nothing but attitude. No one looked like they wanted to be there.
