  • First trip to homer's. We had a coupon, but almost didn't go because of some of the negative reviews I'd read. It was really a nice, mom & pop style country buffet/smorgasbord. The lady at register where we came in (pay first like many buffets) was clearly elderly, but very, very nice. She too time to tell us where everything was, ... Said people come from Indiana because of the chicken on the menu.

The chicken was excellent. Carved roast beef was good. They had a nice selection of food on the buffet but not as much as you would find at golden corral. But then we didn't drop about $50 for a family dinner out like we would at golden corral either.

Highly recommend visiting at least once for the chicken. The desserts were so-so. Get your own drinks were included, and switched to milk to go with dessert (can't do that at golden corral) which was nice.

It's a little out of our way to visit but overall was glad we ignore some of these reviews and gave them a try. Apparently they're not new (is an older building) - they've been there for 60 years I understand.

  • Order: Chechen, etc. from buffet

  • This was the dirtyist place i ever ate at .it was so dark it seemed like a bar not a restaurant . the highchair i had to set my daughter in had black sticky stripes all down it .it was so nasty i wanted to leave .my husband just kept saying its the end of the day.they'll clean tomorrow. they had nothing for the kids . just some cold mac&cheese and ice cream . the cashier stood next to are table talking to us most of the time we were trying to eat . the bathroom was nasty sticky floors toilet paper averywhere and no soap . the food taste good but was luke warm . its really sad it could be the best country restaurant in town if they cleaned the place up .... what a shame.

  • Order: i had liver & onions ,greens, corn fritters and corn bread muffins

  • After a busy day of events away from home we thought that a buffet would be easy, and have something for everyone. Not so for the kids. Not only do they charge one price regardless of age, they have nothing for the whipper snappers. Pizza station...nothing, mountain dew soda...out of order, ice for drinks...we'll get someone on that, carve the ham & beef, we'll be there in a moment. To annoyed by out of, or out of order to enjoy anything even if it was good. My eleven year old had a piece of fried fish, an ice cream, and a water for her full price.

  • Operating out of what appears to be a old Bonanza/Western Sizzler/Ponderosa Steak House, Homers offers typical buffet style food at a very reasonable price. A family of 7 can eat for under $50.00. The salad bar is well stocked and is the first thing you will encounter as you enter the dining area. The main buffet includes country style ribs in a sweet tomato paste sauce, chicken livers (surprisingly popular with my 12 year old son), meatloaf, stuffed green peppers, fried chicken and catfish. They offer several choices of rolls and corn muffins along with sides of corn, green beans, greens, pinto beans, macaroni and cheese (very creamy normally)and a very cheesy pizza which is a huge hit with my five children. At the end of the buffet is a large offering of prime rib. The quality of the food is what one would expect from a older buffet. It is very good but not great. The furnishings of the building are drab but well kept. The folks that normally visit appear to be working class or elderly. The staff make the rounds keeping the tables cleared and the buffet restocked which is a chore considering how busy they normally are. There is plenty of seating and the building is non-smoking.

  • Order: It is a buffet style restaurant serving home style fried chicken, prime rib, catfish, chicken livers, stuffed green peppers, sweet ribs, neat loaf, pizza, corn bread, soups, salad bar and a variety of cooked vegetables as well as a serve yourself dessert bar which includes ice cream and sugar free pies.
