  • Have been ordering from here for years and it's consistent and never disappointing. The staff are friendly and helpful and for Cantonese Chinese food I would say it's the best in town. Don't miss their dry breaded shrimp (weird to see straight shrimp, but they are delicious!) and the chicken almond soo guy.

Really quite surprised to see the bad reviews here, I won't dispute other people's experiences but I strongly suggest they simply had an off night.

  • Order: Breaded shrimp, chicken almond soo guy, fried rice

  • Awful food. Poor quality ingredients (e.g., they used canned mushrooms and the rice tasted like minute rice). The noodles were absolutely tasteless, unless you consider salt a flavor (and the noodle dish we ordered was suppose to be their 'special'). The fried rice wasn't even fried, and the chow mein was mostly just cabbage soaked in a thin, tasteless sauce.

Service was bad (we were told that pickup would be ready in 10-15 minutes and it took almost half an hour). They didn't even acknowledge that it took a lot longer than they had told us.

This was the worst Chinese food I've had in as long as I can remember. I would definitely never eat here again.

  • Order: mushroom fried rice, chow mein, singapore noodles

  • Good quality, simple Chinese food, at a totally affordable price point. $14 per person, tax in, will leave you stuffed. Clean, steaming hot, and ready on time. What more do you want from a take out? The reviewer below either hit them on a really bad day, or he needs to check his expectations about what you get at this price point. I've had fancier Chinese but only at twice the price.

  • The other two reviewers must be crazy or the restaurant must have had a bad day on my order. Note I had delivery so amosphere didnt matter. The delivery was on time though.

The food was really bad. It came soaked in its liquid when its not supposed to be. Very greasy and oily.

The chop suey only has cabbage, celery and beansprouts. So its like green goo with whatever meat you got on top of it.

Egg rolls theres was no taste in the filling but a slight aroma of soap. You're absolutely going to need plum sauce to finish this.

The general tso's chicken is not a normal general tso chicken like the one's youd find on google images if you searched. The chicken was not breaded and fried. Basically a chicken breast cut up. Watch out for the hot peppers when eating. It was drenched in liquid.

Steamed rice was free though which was good. (I think it was free)

For me Vi Ann remains my favorite of choice thus far.

I'm very sad about wasting my money on this place and I totally blame these two reviewers below me.

  • I have ordered from here numerous times and have tried nearly every dish. Hands Down best Chinese take-out in Winnipeg. Very different than you typical Canadian-Chinese restaurants.

The chicken balls are unlike any other place.

  • Order: Have tried almost everything
